আজ সংসদে প্রধানমন্ত্রী তার জন্য নির্ধারিত এক প্রশ্নের জবাবে সপ্তম পঞ্চবার্ষিকী পরিকল্পনা অনুযায়ী এই কর্মসংস্থান তৈরি হবে বলে জানান।
শেখ হাসিনা বলেন, সপ্তম পঞ্চবার্ষিকী পরিকল্পনা সময়ে মোট দেশজ উৎপাদনের (জিডিপি) লক্ষ্য ধরা হয়েছে গড়ে ৭ দশমিক ৪ শতাংশ; যেটা ২০২০ সালের মধ্যে ৮ শতাংশে পৌঁছাবে।

২০০৯-১০ অর্থবছর থেকে ‘ন্যাশনাল সার্ভিস কর্মসূচি’ বাস্তবায়ন করা হচ্ছে উল্লেখ করে তিনি বলেন, এ কর্মসূচির আওতায় ২৪ থেকে ৩৫ বছর বয়সী এবং উচ্চমাধ্যমিক ও তদূর্ধ্ব শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতাসম্পন্ন বেকার যুবক ও যুবমহিলাদের ১০টি সুনির্দিষ্ট মডিউলে তিন মাস মেয়াদী মৌলিক প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদানের পর জাতি গঠনমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডে সম্পৃক্তকরণের মাধ্যমে অস্থায়ী কর্মসংস্থানের ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। এ পর্যন্ত ৭ পর্বে মোট ৩৭ জেলার ১২৮টি উপজেলা ন্যাশনাল সার্ভিস কর্মসূচির আওতাভুক্ত হয়েছে। এ কর্মসূচি বাস্তবায়নের জন্য এ যাবত মোট ১ হাজার ৭২১ কোটি ৭১ লাখ টাকা বরাদ্দ দেয়া হয়েছে।
এ কর্মসূচির আওতায় চলতি বছরের মার্চ পর্যন্ত মোট ১ লাখ ৬৯ হাজার ৩৩২ জনকে প্রশিক্ষণ প্রদান করা হয়েছে। এদের মধ্যে ১ লাখ ৬৬ হাজার ৯৯৭ জন সরকারি ও বেসরকারি বিভিন্ন সংস্থায় ২ বছরের অস্থায়ী কর্মে নিযুক্ত হয়েছে। অস্থায়ী কর্ম শেষে এদের মধ্যে মোট ৩৭ হাজার ৪২৩জন স্বাবলম্বী হয়েছে। এছাড়া ২ বছরের অস্থায়ী কর্মসংস্থান সমাপ্তকারী ৮৫ হাজার ৩২৪ জনের প্রত্যেককে ৪৮ হাজার টাকা করে মোট ৪০৯ কোটি ৫৫ লাখ টাকা সঞ্চয় ফেরত দেয়া হয়েছে। এর ফলে তারা ক্ষুদ্র উদ্যোক্তা হিসেবে গড়ে উঠেছে। সূত্রঃ বাংলাদেশটাইমস্।
